Our Learning in English Language Arts:
- Learning how to identify plural words and when to add "-s" or "-es" as a suffix on certain words
- We've been focusing on how to write comics this week! We filled in comics of characters that we knew (Elephant & Piggie, and Pigeon)! Ask me what kind of comic I made!
Our Learning in Math:
- We have been learning more about 3D shapes and their names! We did a few different activities this week around 3D shapes – a 3D shape scavenger hunt in our classroom, a shape sort between 2D and 3D shapes, and building shapes with toothpicks and playdough.
Our Learning in Science:
- We had so much fun exploring the solar eclipse on Monday!
- We continued learning about energy and movement. We did different kinds of experiments to see how different materials move, slide, roll, or bounce.
- We did an experiment to see if we could get an egg to bounce! Ask me how that went!
Our Learning in Phys Ed:
- We starting with Drum Fit this week! Ask me what kind of things I can do with drum fit.
Our Learning in our Community:
- We had our compliment circle this morning with our class! We love hearing the things other people appreciate in us.
- We played Capture the Flag with our buddies!
- We celebrated our grade 1 friends who were in Music Club this month! They did an amazing job in their performance today.

Supporting Learning at Home
Here are some ways that you can support your child's learning at home this week:
- Reading daily with your child and having them read to you
- Practicing fast facts and friends of 10 games
- Counting backwards from 20 to 0
- Practicing printing names with the correct upper and lowercase letters
Learning Resources for Home
Epic! Books: our class code is jyr5828. Each child has an account and can click their name to begin reading.
Khan Academy Kids: our class code is 6DF45KZ3. You will need to sign up your child when you enter the code.
Teach Your Monster To Read: our class code is 16699796. When you click the link or enter the code, you will need to type your child’s name with a capital letter (i.e.: Ben). This website is free on your computer, or you can download the app to a device.
